-=Officership (and Prime Perv-ship)=-
This guide is intended as a start point for the guidelines used to promote Tainters into Officers and Prime Pervs (PP's).

The list of current Prime Pervs and Officers is posted in the Contacts menu guide.

-=What are Prime Pervs, and their Duties=-
Prime Pervs are those Tainters who the Officers feel have gone above and beyond the usual expectations of the guild in many different aspects. They are long time guild members, they have a positive attitude towards the guild and the game. They contribute to the guild by being helpful to other members and usually are involved in group activities (newbie instance runs, special events like pride parades, running raid groups, etc). They tend to answer questions asked in guild chat, and help players find resources on the Taint website or other locations on the web. Above all, they are people who make the guild a fun, freaky place to play.

The rank of Prime Perv is mainly a mark of distinction, as they do not have mandatory responsibilities. Prime Pervs are someone, in addition to Officers, that guild members can go to if they have questions about the guild, comments, suggestions and even complaints. (Particularly when an Officer may not be available at the time or when a Tainter does not feel comfortable talking to an Officer about a particular issue). The Officers also working closely with Prime Pervs, using a special section of the forums that only PP's and Officers can view, where guild issues can be hashed out when necessary.

-=What are Officers, and their Duties=-
Officers are the leaders of The Spreading Taint. Their ranks in game include Sexy Sergeant (most Officers), Dirty Daddy (current and past Guild Leaders) and Founding Freak (Bigheadben, from whose phallic godhead the various Rough Trade guilds have sprung). Officers set guild policies, maintain the website and Ventrilo servers, screen and invite new members, and when necessary take care of problems in the guild. Officers take care of the day to day housekeeping of the guild, which include many boring details we won't list here.

The hardest job that Officers deal with is lubricating the membership...that is, making sure everybody tries to get along. Officers are not in the game to police the guild, so they only deal with violations of the Guild Charter.

Officers do not manage the Raids within the guild, although individual Officers or PP's are often raiders, and may lead a raid in a non-official capacity. (For information on Raids and their leaders, see the Taint Raid Roster.

-=Becoming an Officer/Prime Perv=-
Promotion in the guild is based on performance and participation. There is no formal process to be promoted, as it relies on nominations from guild members, Prime Pervs, and Officers alike. If you know of someone you feel should be a Prime Perv or Officer, please bring this up with the Guild Leader or any Officers.

-=Leaving the Game=-
Officers who leave the game for a period of time usually wish their guild rank to be demoted for security reasons (someone whose in-active account was hacked could cause serious damage in the guild banks or website, for example). They are usually 'demoted' to Prime Perv status until they return to the game.
The rank of Prime Perv is a mark of distinction, and PP's retain that rank when they leave in almost all circumstances.

-=Demotion=-
Its rare for an Officer or Prime Perv to be demoted for reasons other than leaving the game, but it does occur. Some Officers experience burn out, and want to return to the 'normal' duties of a general guild member, and some PP's may do so as well. Serious infractions can also result in demotion, at the discretion of the Guild Leader and Officers.
